Taylor Swift, No Doubt and Muse are the first acts confirmed to perform at the MTV EMA 2012, airing November 11 from Frankfurt, Germany.
Swift — who heads into the show as one of its most-nominated artists, with five nods — will be making her debut on the EMA stage, and No Doubt will be bringing their patented brand of California cool. Muse (who are old pros when it comes to the EMA) will thunder in on the heels of their brand-new The 2nd Law album, out this week.
Africa’s hottest contemporary artists Sarkodie, Camp Mulla, Wizkid, Mi Casa and D’Banj fight it out for a slot in the Worldwide Act category, where they will compete against their peers in India and the Middle East (from Monday 15 October).
Management of Sarkodie and his close associates believe this year is Sarkodie’s year of making a big impact in global music and hope he wins the award.
If Sarkodie wins, he will walk the same stage with Taylor Swift, No Doubt, Muse, Rihanna, Kanye West, Justin Bieber among others.
Sarkodie has also been nominated for the Channel O music video awards which comes off in November and currently the reigning artist of the year in Ghana.
The final Worldwide Act nominees from each region (Europe, Latin America, North America, Asia Pacific and Africa/India/Middle East) will be announced on 30 October and the winner will be named at the show in Frankfurt.
