MUSIC: Diwari – Tombo

Diwari attended Corona primary school in Victoria Island and then Corona Secondary school in Agbara Estate in Lagos Nigeria. She has a law degree and a master’s degree from Middlesex University and University of Westminster, respectively. She returned to Nigeria to qualify as a barrister.

Her love for music began early, having been influenced by her parents’ tastes. She was a staple chorister throughout her secondary school days. She served as a choir soloist in church, the House on the Rock, while in London.

Well travelled, DIWARI's craft has taken her to Almere in Netherlands and she has performed at the prestigious Royal Albert Hall in UK as one of the leading vocals in the annual Prom Praise. She has also featured on the albums of some UK gospel artistes.

She quotes her musical influences to include artistes such as Donnie McClurkin, Smokie Norful, J Moss, Whitney Houston, John Legend, Marvin Gaye, Michael Jackson, Onyeka Onwenu, Beyonce, Billy Ocean, Adele, Luther Vandross. Her performance skills and vocal dexterity were personally honed to reflect her likes and convictions that ‘TALENT IS A REFLECTION OF THE INNER SELF’.

In November 2011 she tried out for Nigerian Idol Season 2; a couple of months after writing her bar examinations.
DIWARI, was called to the Nigerian Bar while contesting. She finished as a top 7 finalist on the show through the support of her family, friends, and fans. Her outing earned DIWARI good reviews in the media, the Guardian citing her run in the competition as “fantastic.”

DIWARI has since performed on the same stage with Nigerian superstar acts like Tuface Idibia and 9ice earning her a full feature spread in the Punch.

DIWARI passionately believes in chasing after dreams. She states at every given opportunity that with hard work and God on your case, you can achieve amazing things.
"Tombo" released on the 1st of October is her debut single. She is currently managed by Nomoreloss Productions Company.
