MUSIC VIDEO FROM KENYA - KIJANI

Kijani Unleashes Breakout

The name kijani symbolizes green and it’s the stage name of these 3 young gorgeous ladies who are taking Kenyan music industry by storm with their music and dress code something that many artists are not keen with. The group started singing together when they were in high school and after they cleared high school, they started doing music professionally under Cypher studios and the group compromises of Christine Chege and twin sisters Elizabeth Njuguna and Caroline Njuguna, their music genre can be described as pop and RnB, they empower women through their music.
Many confuse the group to be Ugandan since most of their music videos are shot in Uganda while some say that Kijani resembles the famous Ugandan all girl group Blu 3. Their music is widely appreciated as the group brings some fresh needed sound in the Kenyan music industry, pop is not common in Kenya but the group is able to blend pop with some Kenyan music genres leaving fans yearning for more. They songs include utamwabia aje meaning how will you tell your loved ones that you have been infected with the HIV virus? The song makes one question his or her behavior, Pole is another song from the group kijani meaning sorry,Trendsetters, Watakanini meaning what do you want? The song can be classified as raga whose tempo is danceable and a club banger and they featured the multi talented Gaza formerly of Ukoo flani.
Breakout is the new song by Kijani and it calls for people to embrace their personalities despite their backgrounds, you should be bold of life and do what makes you happy and comfortable. The video concept is unique and I haven’t seen any Kenyan video with this kind of style, they show the video at night in a maize farm in Najembe and it’s one of the locations where the international film titled The Last King of Scotland was shot. Breakout is a club banger, the song has a great message and its tempo is fast making it danceable. The lyrics are in Kiswahili and English language, the audio has been recorded and mastered by Jimmy the beatmekah of cypher studios while the video has been shot by Uganda renowned film maker Duncan Mugisha who is popularly known as Deddac.
